The challenge

Detecting spills and floating waste reliably from photographs — reaching an accuracy high enough to trust each detection. Designing the whole system from an idea to production and commercial use. No off-the-shelf solution existed; it meant real innovation.

What we built

From the ground up: an AI that detects spills and floating waste in port waters from photographs, and a system that captures and classifies those images — all managed through a custom web application, both for management and for clients. We also built the project’s website, portwatercontrol.com.

The outcome

A robust system with reliable detections, already running in production across 16 ports. And it keeps improving: the AI is retrained continuously to sharpen its accuracy, and the application grows to meet new needs as they arise.
