ONA Toolbox

An interactive platform that models sea-level rise, flooding and erosion, turning coastal climate scenarios into clear, actionable insight.

Client: SOCIBType: Innovation ProjectStatus: In production

The challenge

Assessing local climate change impacts on the coast means running complex wave and flood models (SWAN, LISFLOOD) on historical storm and bathymetry data — simulations only specialists could configure and interpret, out of reach for scenario exploration and adaptation planning.

What we built

We built ONA Toolbox: an interactive, browser-based platform that integrates modelling and geospatial data behind a guided workflow — configuring storms, bathymetry and climate scenarios, running the simulations and visualizing sea-level rise, flooding and erosion. We’re now evolving it into a modular digital twin, separating the web interface from a containerized model-execution backend within SOCIB’s digital twin architecture.

The outcome

Users can explore climate scenarios and visualize their coastal impact directly, supporting informed decision-making and resilient adaptation planning — on a platform that keeps evolving alongside SOCIB’s digital twin framework.
